For this project I get inspiration from an injection molded keychain that I got when i visited Bradley University for the first time. it was created by engineering students and I thought it was super cool that they could injection mold but they were limited to one color so I decided to create my own.
The first step i went through was getting the Bradley University logo, I did this by converting a raster image to a vector path in Vector Magic. From there I added the keychain loop in Affinity Designer and exported as a DXF. Then I imported the DXF to Shapr3D where I extruded the different colors to different heights and exported an STL file to prepare for printing. Finally I assigned colors and printed the keychain.Â
This version of the keychain happened by accident when I didn't realize which colors i had in which slots and used grey instead of red. When it was done printing I was suprised to see grey, rubbed my eyes, still saw grey then took a nap.
